About Short Courses

The Lebanese national committee organizes the participation of students and alumni in UWC summer short courses. Each year, students aged 15-18 from around the world who wish to get a glimpse of the UWC experience can do so through these unique 2-4 week residential programs.

UWC short courses are centered on relevant themes and the development of skill sets which form the basis of the two year UWC program. They are experiential and immersive, typically bringing together 30 - 60 young people from different backgrounds. As the focus of each course is different, the course participants may come from the same country, region or continent, or they may be an entirely international group.

Since 2018, UWC Lebanon has overseen its own short course based in Beirut, “Connecting with the Mediterranean”, which is facilitated by current students and alumni. The course addresses subjects such as the conflict, migration, exploration of identity and culture, and youth empowerment, with focus on the Mediterranean regional context. The next course is welcoming participants in July 2019. A limited number of course fee waivers will be available for low-income participants. Click here for more information.

UWC Lebanon also provides assistance to Lebanese students interested in participating in one of the many short courses offered abroad. To apply and/or learn more about past, current, and upcoming short courses, visit https://www.uwc.org/shortcourses
